An injection-molded plastic kit of the German fighter triplane Fokker Dr.1 in 1:44 scale from Smer. It is a classic, easily built model with a ribbed surface, a basic cockpit and decals. Thanks to its lower demands it suits beginning modelers too. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Fokker Dr.1 was a single-seat fighter triplane used by the German air service at the close of the First World War. It became famous for its agility and for its association with the well-known flying aces of the day. Its characteristic three lifting surfaces one above another made it one of the best-known silhouettes of the era.
The model is undemanding, but we still recommend cleaning up the joints and gluing them with thin cement for plastic. Glue the three wings carefully so that their mutual geometry sits right. It can be painted with a brush or an airbrush, and the result comes alive with fine highlighting of the ribbing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
