The package contains individual marsh marigolds for dioramas and vignettes in 1:48 scale. The plants are separated from the sheet, shaped and planted into finished terrain. The manufacturer is the Czech company Model Scene, which focuses on diorama vegetation and scenery materials. It is not a kit but an accessory for finishing a scene. The name gives a range of 1:45 and 1:48.
The marsh marigold is a low perennial with glossy round leaves and rich yellow flowers. It grows exclusively in wet places: on waterlogged meadows, in marshes, on the banks of streams and pools, in ditches with standing water and at the edges of ponds. It flowers early in the spring, when the surrounding vegetation is still low, and its yellow flowers are impossible to miss at that time. In a diorama it therefore plays two roles at once – it marks a place as damp and brings a splash of color into a green surface that draws the eye.
Plant marsh marigolds only where the scene really suggests damp: by the water surface, in muddy ruts, by a spring or in a flooded ditch. Place them irregularly and in smaller groups, not in a row. Bend the leaves slightly and turn them upward, and let the flowers stand out above the surrounding growth. Glue with cyanoacrylate; at a water surface of clear resin, plant them before the final layer so that they look as though they were growing out of the water. Work sparingly with the yellow – a few pronounced clumps work better than a continuous band.
This is a scenery accessory, not a model kit. The glue, the paints, the base and any further material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
