Responsibility details are not available.
The package contains individual clumps of sedge for dioramas and vignettes in 1:48 scale. The clumps are separated from the sheet, shaped and planted into finished terrain. The manufacturer is the Czech company Model Scene, which supplies diorama vegetation and scenery materials. It is not a kit but a scenery accessory. The name gives a range of 1:45 and 1:48.
Sedges are grass-like plants with narrow, stiff leaves that are sharp along the edges. They grow in dense compact clumps that arch outward as they rise. They seek out damp: they grow on waterlogged meadows, in wetlands, on the banks of pools and streams, in ditches and at the edges of peat bogs. Unlike ordinary meadow grass they do not form a continuous carpet but pronounced individual cushions, with bare or flooded ground left between them – and it is precisely this structure that makes the greatest impression in a diorama.
Plant the clumps singly and with gaps, not in a continuous band; leave the open areas between them muddy or flooded. Open the leaves out slightly before planting and bend them into an arch, so that the clump does not look like a bundle of straight stems. Plant them into a pre-drilled hole with a drop of cyanoacrylate, and at a water surface set them in before the final layer of water imitation. Combine clumps of different heights and add low wetland growth to them. The tips can be darkened slightly, or on the contrary bleached, if you want to suggest late summer.
This is a scenery accessory, not a model kit. The glue, the paints, the base and any further material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
