An earlier state of the same ship is captured by 1:72 IJN Zuikaku 1943 Deck, a base with deck artwork dated to 1943.
Responsibility details are not available.
This base works with an earlier state of the same carrier than the variant dated to 1944. The subject is a continuous flight deck, on which you stand a finished model and get a finished scene with no further work. The 1:72 scale is given directly by the label of the item.
For the Japanese carriers 1943 was a period of making good their strength after the losses of the preceding months. The Zuikaku moved at that time between home waters and forward bases, taking on new airmen and preparing for the engagements that came a year later. It is therefore not a year of great battles, but a period that for the air group meant rebuilding almost from scratch.
The earlier dating suits machines in an earlier finish, so check before buying which period your model falls into. A more saturated ground also takes models with more pronounced wear, which would read as dirty on a light area. It works well to stand the machine so that the propeller points toward the edge of the area and the scene gains direction. That also makes it simpler to add further elements later.
Only the base is included. Aircraft, figures and other accessories are not enclosed with it.
