Universal black vinyl film

Compared with paper tapes, vinyl is more pliable and follows a curved surface better without wrinkling at the edge. The black version is also opaque, so it suits places where a surface is meant to be visually covered. The universal set serves as a stock of material for situations where no ready-made shape exists and you have to make your own.

How to work with the film

Cut on a mat with a new blade and draw the cut in one movement; an interrupted cut leaves a ragged edge. Trace the shape onto paper first and try it dry, and only then transfer it to the vinyl. Lay the finished piece down from the center toward the edges and press it with a smooth tool so that no air is left under it. It is best to lift it off slowly and at a sharp angle to the surface.

It will be appreciated by builders who do not want to depend on the range of ready-made shapes, by owners of cutting plotters and by everyone who works on older or less usual models. It is also handy when building dioramas, where dark areas and strips can be made from thin material faster than by painting.
