A mask set for aircraft models in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer SX-Art, part number SXA48114. The die-cut masks take the place of laborious covering with tape and card and save time above all on the cockpit glazing, where trimming the sharp corners of the framing by hand tends to be a long job.
The masks are laid on a clean and degreased surface before spraying, never onto paint that has already dried. Take the individual elements out of the sheet with the tip of a scalpel or with tweezers, seat them in place and press them down, so that the edge settles all around and no paint bleeds under it. Spray in thin coats, because a heavy coat of paint forms a ridge on the edge of the mask. Take the mask off while the paint is still freshly dry, again with the tip of a scalpel or with tweezers, and pull it back over itself rather than straight away from the surface. If the paint on the edge still holds the mask firmly, run the tip of a new blade around the outline first, so that the coat is broken and does not tear away with it.
Mask sets are made for a particular kit, so before buying, check against the information on the packaging whether this one matches yours. The placing and the order of the individual elements follow the manufacturer's instructions. Save time on the set, not care, because an edge that has not settled properly shows only after unmasking.
The package contains only the masking elements. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
