A set of small resin accessories from the Spanish brand Green Stuff World: children's toys for civilian scenes. The name gives usability in a range of scales from 1:48 to 1:35; the castings come out best in 1:35 scale. It is neither a kit nor figures: they are separate castings that are set into a finished scene.
A diorama does not work thanks to the number of parts but thanks to a detail that hints at a story. A toy dropped in a yard or by the threshold of a house does two things at once: it gives the scene a human dimension and it establishes who lives in that house, without your having to add another figure. At the same time it is one of the few elements that may be richly colored, because among the subdued shades of terrain and vehicles it works as a deliberate accent of color on which the eye stops.
First wash the mold release agent off the small castings in lukewarm water with dish soap, or the paint will not hold. Paint them glued to a stick or to double-sided tape, because they are awkward to hold and the coat rubs off. Do not be afraid of clean, saturated shades, as toys are meant to stand out. Credibility is then given by a fine wash into the grooves and a light suggestion of wear on the edges, because a brand-new toy in a dusty yard looks out of place. It is glued with super glue; when placing it, choose a spot the eye reaches naturally, not the middle of an empty area.
This is an accessory set, not a kit and not figures. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
