A set of stores for a model of the Rafale in 1:48 scale: two pieces of AT730, two pieces of PU708 and six pieces of AAS250 with the Mk 82 bomb body, completed by decals.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Dassault Rafale is a French multirole combat aircraft with a delta wing and canard surfaces ahead of it. It is exactly the stores that make it what it is: the same airframe looks different every time according to what it has under the wings and under the fuselage. A model with the series armament from the kit therefore merges easily with the others, whereas a carefully assembled arrangement of stores gives it a particular shape.
According to the name there are six pieces of AAS250 in the package, that is munitions built on the body of the Mk 82 bomb. The Mk 82 is an American aerial bomb of the five hundred pound weight class, whose body serves as the basis for guided kits as well. The set further carries two pieces each of the items kept as AT730 and PU708. Decals, with which the stores are lettered afterwards, are part of the package too.
The parts are not of polystyrene and ordinary plastic glue has no effect on them; use cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down, so that the shape of the body stays smooth. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts and apply a base, and only then the color. The decals go onto gloss varnish; once dry, clear-coat them with a matte one.
For modelers who build the Rafale armed and do not want to settle for what was in the box. It pays to think the arrangement of the stores out before you start gluing, because their distribution on the pylons determines the final impression of the whole model. The kit itself, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
