A masking set for the model of the A-10 ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The A-10 is a single-seat ground-attack aircraft intended for close support of ground units. It was built around the 30 mm rotary cannon that takes up a substantial part of the nose, and around the armored bathtub that protects the pilot. Its engines sit high on the sides of the rear fuselage, between a pair of vertical tails. It flies slowly and low, which gives it one advantage when a model is built: almost everything on it is visible, including wear and dirty surfaces.
Masks for a model in 1:48 scale. They serve to keep the paint only where it belongs and to make the boundary between areas sharp. Working with them is faster and more accurate than cutting tape freehand, especially on shapes with a curve.
Wash and degrease the surface before sticking the masks on, always apply the masks before spraying and press the edge down carefully. Apply the paint in fine coats so that it does not run under and so that no step forms at the edge. Lift the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, slowly and at a shallow angle; a mask left on for a long time comes away less easily. Check the form and the exact application of the set in the manufacturer's instructions and dry-fit the mask onto the part before you work.
For the modeler who is building the A-10 in 1:48 scale and wants sharp edges without lengthy cutting of tape. Experience with masking is not needed; patience and a sharp blade for trimming are enough.
The model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
