This set from Art Scale brings an accurate 3D-printed replica of the muzzle of the rotary cannon and its cover for models of the A-10 Thunderbolt II ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but a detail accessory that simply replaces the simplified plastic parts of the nose armament and gives the model a faithful rendition of this iconic weapon.
The A-10 Thunderbolt II is an American ground-attack aircraft built literally around a seven-barrel 30 mm rotary cannon. The characteristic protruding barrel and its cover on the nose are among the most striking features of the whole machine, so a faithful rendition shows plainly.
Separate the parts carefully from the print supports and clean them up. They are bonded with super glue. Apply a primer before painting, render the metal in a dark steel shade and bring it out with a dry brush; the area around the muzzle tends to be sooted, for which a black and brown pigment or a wash works well.
The set contains only the parts of the cannon muzzle and its cover. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package.
