The A-10A is a single-seat ground-attack aircraft built around its gun and intended for close support of ground troops. It has a number of service panels on the fuselage with the electronic equipment stowed behind them. In flight they are closed, but during maintenance they are swung open and reveal the inner frames and the instruments. Kits usually do not deal with these bays and the inner side of the fuselage behind the panel is smooth.
The set brings the interior of the bay with the electronic equipment, that is, walls with a three-dimensional relief of the instruments and the supporting frames and the matching panel. It is fitted where you want to show the panel open; the area on the kit part has to be cut out for that first. Work out the position of the cutout and the order of the steps from the manufacturer's instructions, because they differ according to the kit used.
Make the cut rather with a margin inside the outline and sand down to the final shape, because taking material away is always possible and adding it is harder. Cut the excess material on the parts off a little way from the part with a sharp blade and sand the remainder down. Wash and degrease before painting. Paint and shade the inside before you fit it, because you will not reach it later. The wiring and the small instruments come into their own after a dark glaze and a pass with a dry brush.
The set is for modelers who want to show more than a closed airframe, typically on a standing model with ground crew added. It calls for cutting into the kit parts, so it suits more experienced builders. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
