A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the glazed areas of a model of the Douglas A-1H attack aircraft in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. The TFace designation means that the set deals with the glazing from both sides — the package holds masks for the outer as well as the inner surface of the canopy. That is the difference from the basic variant of the masks, which covers only the outside. It is not a model but an accessory for a plastic kit.
The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was a single-seat attack aircraft with a piston radial engine, designed as far back as the close of the Second World War and used long into the era of jet aircraft. The A-1H version is among the most widespread single-seat forms. The type was marked out by great endurance over the target area and by a considerable number of pylons under the wing. The cockpit has a fairly large canopy with several frames, so the difference between masking by hand and pre-cut masking tells on it.
First wash and degrease the glazing. Lift the masks off with tweezers and seat them dry — with a double-sided set, sort the parts into inner and outer ones first, so that you do not mix them up while sticking them on. Paint the inner side with the interior shade, and only then work on the outside. Apply the paint in thin layers and take the tape off shortly after it has gone touch-dry.
The package holds only the masks. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it.
