The A-36 is the attack version of the North American Mustang fighter. It came about in the early phase of the type's development, when the machine was powered by an Allison V12. It differed from the fighter version in its dive brakes for diving attacks and in racks for bombs, and it was used above all in the Mediterranean. The cabin of the early series was still framed and had a clearly visible instrument panel.
The set brings a color interior for the cabin. The detail is printed on a 3D printer and transferred onto decal paper, so the instrument panel, the side consoles, the levers and the seat have a real height of relief. Once stuck down, a three-dimensional surface with legible dials and lettering is produced. The shaping matches the Accurate Miniatures and Italeri kits in 1:48 scale.
The elements of the QD range are applied like a decal. Cut the part out of the sheet, dip it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the backing paper onto a cleaned, degreased place. It has no adhesive layer of its own; it holds most reliably on a gloss clear coat of the Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22 type, and on intricate surfaces a drop of cyanoacrylate helps. Do not use a decal softener or a setting solution: their chemistry will attack the printed resin. Pressure with a soft tool will settle the material even into slightly shaped surfaces. It is worth sanding the molded relief on the plastic away beforehand, so that the element seats on a flat surface.
The set suits modelers who want deep cabin detail without painting tiny instruments and without bending metal. The procedure is quick and calls for no special tools beyond a sharp scalpel. The package holds only the interior sheet. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
