An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Douglas A-4C Skyhawk carrier attack aircraft in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The kit is injection-molded, with engraved surface detail, a detailed cockpit, a clear canopy and underwing stores (bombs, tanks or rockets); the decals let you build the machine in US Navy markings. The exact number of parts is not stated here as certain; the instructions in the box are what counts.
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk was an American light carrier attack aircraft designed in the 1950s as a small, light and simple machine able to carry a considerable load of weapons. It stood out for its low weight, for a small delta wing that did not have to fold for stowage aboard a carrier, and for a long life in many versions. The A-4C version was one of the early production machines. The Skyhawk served for decades with the Navy and with other operators and saw action in a number of Cold War conflicts.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and sand the joints of the fuselage and the air intakes. Finish and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage and mask the glazing. Lay down a primer; airbrush the typical US Navy scheme with white undersides and a gray top and add panel accents, exhaust staining and the wear of a shipboard machine. Paint the stores and fit them last.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
