1:48 A6M2b Zero Fighter Model 21 seatbelts STEEL are Eduard photo-etched steel seat belts for a model of the Japanese A6M2b Zero fighter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains photo-etched seat belts for the pilot's seat of a model of the A6M2b Zero in 1:48 scale. According to the name it is the steel form, which differs from the brass one in that it holds its shape better after bending and does not spring back. This is not a kit of the aircraft or a complete cockpit set but a narrowly aimed accessory that deals with a single, though very visible, detail.
On a model in 1:48 scale the seat is usually the most clearly visible feature of the cockpit. Injection-molded plastic either has no belts at all or has them suggested as relief, which looks flat once painted. A photo-etched belt has a real thickness, can be folded over the edge of the seat and left hanging loose, so the cockpit at once gains scale and depth. On Japanese carrier fighters, where the cockpit tends to be exposed and easy to look into, it is one of the simplest ways to move a model on.
Cut the parts off the fret with a sharp knife on a hard surface and do not drag them sideways with tweezers. Steel bends a little less easily than brass, but the bend then holds, so shape the belt first and glue it only afterwards. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue or with a micro glue applied with a pin. Fit the belts only after the seat has been painted, so that you do not flood them with paint, and you will get a natural look by letting them ripple slightly over the edge.
It is an accessory for a kit, not a model of the aircraft. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
