A vacuum-formed clear canopy for the pilot's compartment with masks for the Zero A6M3 model 22 and A6M5 model 52 in 1:48 scale. The clear part is formed in the slid-back position, so the finished model can be displayed with the cockpit uncovered.

The set contains a vacuum-formed clear canopy for the pilot's compartment for the Japanese Mitsubishi A6M3 model 22 and A6M5 model 52 carrier fighters in 1:48 scale and, with it, masks for spraying its framing. The shape matches the slid-back position, so a finished piece can stand in a display case with the cockpit uncovered and show the seat and the instrument panel.
The model 22 came about as a reaction to the shortened range of the variant with clipped wing tips: Mitsubishi returned the long folding tips known from the model 21 and kept the stronger Sakae 21 powerplant. The model 52 went the opposite way: the span was reduced again, the tips received a rounded shape with no folding and the exhausts were led out individually to add a little thrust. Both forms of the famous Zero flew with the Imperial Navy in the second half of the war.
Cut the clear molding out with a new blade and a small overhang and finish the edge on fine abrasive paper laid on a flat base until it seats with no pressure. It pays to try the seating dry and only then to reach for an adhesive that dries clean and does not fog the surface.
