1:48 A(B)-26B - 3D printed color decals of the interior (ICM) from Quinta Studio will refine the roomy pilot cockpit of the Invader without photo-etched parts and without painting the instruments.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Quinta Studio set is made up of 3D printed elements printed on decal paper and is supplied already in color. It takes the place of photo-etched and resin accessories and concentrates on the interior, that is, on the part of the twin-engine bomber which is well seen through the extensive glazing. The set is cut for the ICM kit in 1:48 scale.
The Douglas A-26 Invader was a twin-engine attack bomber with powerful radial engines and, for its day, a high speed. The version designated B had a solid, unglazed nose set with machine guns, unlike the glazed nose of the bomber version. After 1948 the type was redesignated B-26, which leads to frequent confusion with an entirely different aircraft, the Martin B-26 Marauder, and that is why both letters appear in the designation of the set.
The elements are applied to a cleaned surface coated with gloss varnish, whose shape they follow once they adhere. The element that has been cut out is laid in lukewarm water for about 15 seconds and slid off the carrier paper; the manufacturer prohibits a softener and a setting solution, as they would damage the printed resin layer. Unify the base with a darker shade, work with tweezers and finish the interior before you close the fuselage and set the glazing in place.
It is an accessory for detailing, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
