Albatros W.4 1:48 - a set of details from Black Dog fits out a model of the German floatplane fighter of the First World War with the fine rendering that an injection mold does not bring out.
Responsibility details are not available.
With this accessory the manufacturer Black Dog aims at a model of the German naval floatplane fighter from the period of the First World War. Obtain the base kit of the aircraft separately, as this item deals only with accentuating the detail where an injection-molded shape is necessarily simplified.
The Albatros W.4 came from the land-based fighters of the D series and received a larger wing area and a pair of floats. From 1916 the Imperial German Navy committed it to protecting coastal stations, where it escorted reconnaissance machines and defended anchorages against raids. It was produced in a fairly small batch and among modelers it belongs to the types that appear in the offering only rarely. It is precisely with a wood-and-fabric structure with an open cockpit that fine rendering makes the greatest difference.
First set the parts in dry and level any contact surfaces on a glass plate backed with sandpaper. Do the sanding wet and protect your breathing. Assemble and paint the cockpit before you close the fuselage, because afterwards you will not reach it any more. Wooden surfaces look convincing when a fine drawing of the grain is drawn over a light base with oil paint.
In the package you will not find the paints, the glue or the aircraft itself.
