AN/ALE-47 Countermeasures Dispenser in 1:48 scale is a set of resin countermeasures dispensers from the Czech maker Brengun - a small but prominent detail of modern combat aircraft and helicopters.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of resin castings of AN/ALE-47 countermeasures dispensers in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Brengun. The finely cast dispenser blocks, with the individual launch tubes drawn in, add to a model a detail that kits often simplify or leave out altogether - and yet it is a clearly visible element of modern combat machines.
The AN/ALE-47 is an American countermeasures dispensing system that protects an aircraft or a helicopter against guided missiles. From its dispensers it fires infrared flares against heat-seeking missiles and bundles of dipoles, so-called chaff, which confuse radar guidance. The system is used on a whole range of American and allied machines - from fighter and attack aircraft to transports and helicopters - and its dispensers tend to be visibly recessed into the skin.
Separate the small blocks from the casting block carefully with a sharp blade or a fine saw and level the mating surfaces by sanding with respiratory protection. Check the placement on your particular machine against photographs of the real aircraft. Glue with a small drop of super glue, then brush over with primer and paint along with the surrounding camouflage; a fine dark wash will bring out the launch tubes.
This is an accessory, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unpainted; the basic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
