The Quickboost (Aires) set in 1:48 scale holds a finely cast slung AN/APS-4 radar pod. It is a detail accessory, not a kit of the airplane: the pod was slung under the wing and will round out models of American machines fitted with this radar.
The AN/APS-4 was an American airborne radar of the Second World War, carried in an aerodynamic pod under the wing. It was used among others by night fighters and by patrol and torpedo aircraft for finding targets in reduced visibility and over the sea. The pod with its characteristic shape is a rewarding detail on machines of the day.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue, separate them from the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding. We recommend a firm and straight attachment of the pod to the pylon under the wing.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin detail set. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
