An injection-molded plastic kit of the float water version of the An-2 in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Valom. The box holds injection-molded plastic including a pair of floats, a clear glazing part and a decal sheet; the model is meant to be glued and painted.
The Antonov An-2, NATO reporting name Colt, is a single-engine biplane with a radial engine. The float version, designated An-2W and in the export form An-4, carries a pair of large floats instead of the wheeled undercarriage and serves for operations from water. It proved useful where airfields were lacking but a river or a lake was available.
Seat the large floats and their struts accurately so that the model stands straight, and help yourself with a dry fit. Glue the interplane struts with liquid cement for plastic. Paint the engine and the cabin beforehand, apply a primer and the paints with an airbrush. Protect the undersides of the floats with a clear coat against wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
