A kit of the AT-38B Talon trainer in 1:48 scale from the South Korean brand Wolfpack. It is a model intended to be glued together and painted, not a finished model. The Northrop T-38 Talon is a two-seat supersonic trainer with a pair of turbojets, a thin wing and cockpits in tandem. It was created at the end of the 1950s and became one of the longest serving trainer types of all. The AT-38B variant is its modified version for the final phase of training combat pilots, known by the abbreviation LIFT. Compared with the basic trainer version it received equipment for practicing combat use and revised instrumentation; the machines also differed in a more striking service finish.
The slender fuselage with its large share of smooth surfaces puts the emphasis on cleanly sanded joints. Before closing the fuselage up, check whether the model will not sit back on its tail on the landing gear; on aircraft of similar shape with a long nose, weight usually has to be added. Build and paint the two-seat cockpits before the fuselage halves are glued together. A smooth glossy surface reveals every unevenness, so use a filling primer and sand lightly between coats. Apply gloss varnish under the decals and, once they are dry, even the surface out with a matte or semi-matte coat according to the scheme chosen.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
