Photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the British twin-engine Avro Anson Mk.I. An add-on to the kit wherever a part should be as thin as real sheet metal.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Avro Anson was a British twin-engine aircraft that entered service before the Second World War. At first it served on patrols over the sea, but it soon found its main use in training crews, that is navigators, radio operators and gunners, and in communications duties. The Mk.I version is the earliest and the most numerous; on it the landing gear was retracted by hand with a crank, which was notorious drudgery among the crews. Thousands were built and the machine stayed in service long after the war.
The set contains photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the Anson Mk.I. Photo-etch is used wherever a part should be as thin as real sheet metal or wire: belt buckles, controls, frames, grilles, loops and small instrument equipment. Which parts of the machine the set covers, which kit it is tuned for and what has to be sanded off the plastic beforehand is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The individual parts are held on the metal fret by small tabs. Cut through them with a sharp blade on a hard surface; pliers will crease the thin metal. True the remains of the tab with a fine file. Make the bends along the etched grooves, ideally in a bending tool, otherwise between two metal rules. Hold the joints with super glue applied with a pin in a really small amount. Degrease the metal before painting and give it a coat of primer, otherwise the paint will crack on the smooth surface.
The kit, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
