Photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the British twin-engine aircraft Avro Anson Mk.I. They add fine metal detail to the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Avro Anson was a British twin-engine low-wing monoplane of the mid-1930s. It was created originally for patrol flights over the sea, but it made its name in the role of a training machine: navigators, radio operators and gunners were trained on Ansons on a large scale, and the machine was produced in enormous numbers outside Britain as well. The Mk.I version had manually retracted landing gear, which cost the crew a long series of turns of a crank to wind up. Even so the Anson earned a reputation as a reliable, if unexciting aircraft on which a whole training syllabus could be flown.
The etched fret offers parts that are as thin in metal as they could never be in plastic: instrument panels with embossing, seat belts, buckles, grilles, placards and small linkages. On the model this shows above all in the cockpit and in the places the viewer focuses on first. The extent of the fret and the position of the parts are given in the instructions supplied by the manufacturer.
Work on a light-colored, hard surface from which a small part cannot fly away. Separate the parts by pressing with the blade, not by twisting, and level the remaining tab with a stroke of the file from the edge inwards. Make a longer bend along its whole length at once, so that the edge is not wavy. Dose the glue with the tip of a toothpick; a drop runs across metal immediately and leaves a stain. Before you start painting, degrease the sheet and spray a primer over it, as only then will the paint hold.
An etched fret is supplied. The aircraft kit, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
