Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Avro Anson Mk.I in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Special Hobby. The boxing subtitled Anti-submarine Annie aims at the period when the Anson served with coastal patrol units. The nickname Annie accompanied the type throughout its career and Special Hobby uses it across several releases of this subject.
The Avro Anson came into being by adapting a civil transport aircraft and became the first British type with retractable landing gear brought into regular service. Power was provided by a pair of air-cooled Armstrong Siddeley Cheetah radial engines. At the beginning of the Second World War Ansons served with coastal aviation for patrolling over the sea and escorting convoys, and later the type was used above all for training crews and for liaison and transport tasks. It was produced for a long time and in enormous numbers, among other places in Canada.
The Anson has extensive glazing of the cabin and of the gun turret — count on time for masking and on the interior being well visible through the glass. Glue the fuselage and the wing after the inside is finished, dry-fit the parts and rather fill the joints with a thin layer of filler than sand the engraving away roughly. British coastal schemes have sharp transitions between the colors, which are best done with masking putty or tape; finish the lower surfaces at the very end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
