A detailed photo-etched set from Eduard, meant to improve the outer surfaces of the plastic model of the B-1B Lancer in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of an airplane but an accessory raising the fidelity of a finished kit. The set usually holds fine exterior elements such as covers, grilles, flaps and small external fittings, whose thickness plastic cannot imitate faithfully.
The B-1B Lancer is an American supersonic strategic bomber with a variable-geometry wing. It entered the armament of the US Air Force in the 1980s as a carrier of a large bomb and missile load with a long range. Its aerodynamically clean, smoothly blended fuselage shaping is characteristic.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and bend them in a photo-etch bending tool. They are glued with super glue or with epoxy. Because of the large area of the model it pays to try the parts dry first and only then fix them; lay on a primer before the clear coat.
This is a supplementary photo-etched set, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
