Eduard — Bombsight for the B-25J Mitchell Model, 1:48 Scale, made by direct 3D printing. An accessory for the glazed nose, not an airplane model.
Responsibility details are not available.
An add-on set from Eduard containing a 3D-printed bombsight for the model of the American bomber B-25J Mitchell in 1:48 scale. The part is made by direct 3D printing and replaces the simplified plastic part from the kit. The manufacturer lists the target kit as the Hong Kong Models B-25J.
The B-25 Mitchell was an American twin-engine medium bomber, famous among other things for the raid on Tokyo, where the aircraft took off from an aircraft carrier's deck. The bombsight was an optical instrument in the glazed nose, through which the bombardier aimed and determined the moment of release. That is exactly why it is such a rewarding detail on a model: the B-25's nose is large and glazed at 1:48 scale, and the sight is clearly visible in it. Injection-molded plastic can never handle such fine optics and their supporting structure — 3D printing can.
For modelers building the B-25J in 1:48 who want the glazed nose to have something to show. Working with the small printed part requires patience and a steady hand.
This is not an airplane model. The B-25J kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
