A masking set from the Czech maker Eduard for a model of the B-25J Mitchell with a glazed nose in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but pre-cut masks for the areas that are to stay free of paint. The TFace version is prepared for the inner side of the glazing as well. Being meant for the glazed nose matters on this type, because the J version was built with two forms of the forward fuselage and the masks differ for each.
The North American B-25 Mitchell is an American twin-engine medium bomber with a high-mounted wing and twin vertical tails. The J version is the most numerously built form of the type and existed both with a glazed nose for the navigator and bombardier and with a solid low nose. This set belongs to the form with the glazed nose.
Wash and degrease the glazing, lift the masks with tweezers and press them down with a toothpick all the way round. The glazed nose has small and irregular panels, so work in short sections and keep checking that no corner has been left standing proud. Spray the paint in thin coats and take the masks off shortly after it has dried.
The set is an accessory to a kit, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
