The SPACE set by the maker Eduard combines color, pre-printed 3D decals applied to the surface of the parts with photo-etched elements of steel (STEEL) and serves for quick and effective detailing of the rear interior of models of the twin-engined bomber B-26 Marauder in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory detail set intended to improve a plastic model.
The color 3D decals faithfully imitate the instrument panels, the side walls, the controls and the other fittings of the rear part of the fuselage with realistic depth and highlights. The photo-etched steel parts add the fine elements that cannot be created in plastic. The result is an interior that looks three-dimensional without the need for laborious hand painting of small details.
These are not classic wet decals. Moisten only the backing paper with a sponge and a drop of detergent, lift the element off with tweezers and fix it on a cleaned smooth surface with PVA glue (white glue). Do not use decal softener or setting solution, as their chemicals will damage the printed resin and destroy the element. Separate the photo-etched steel parts from the fret, bend them with tweezers or a bending tool and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. On the 3D element itself the manufacturer does not recommend cyanoacrylate glue.
The set is an accessory for a kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
