An add-on set of wheels with sagging tires for a model of the BAC TSR-2 aircraft in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An add-on set of wheels for a model of the British aircraft BAC TSR-2 in 1:48 scale. The tires are made with a sag at the point of contact with the surface, so the model stands on the base like a machine that has a weight of its own. It replaces the wheels from the kit, on which the tread pattern and the drawing of the sidewall tend to be shallow.
The TSR-2 was a British strike and reconnaissance aircraft of the first half of the sixties, built for a fast penetration at low altitude. A single prototype got into the air and in 1965 the whole program was canceled, so what remained of the aircraft is a subject for modelers and historians rather than a production machine. That is exactly why add-ons suit it: such a model tends to be one of the few in a display case.
The parts are not made of polystyrene and are glued with super glue. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder on abrasive paper laid on a flat board; check as you go that the contact pad stays flat. Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent before painting and let them dry. The sag of the tire has to face the ground, otherwise the point of the set is lost. Paint the casing in dark gray rather than black, set the hub apart and bring the tread out with a dark shade.
The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The procedure for working with the parts is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
