A resin accessory from Quickboost (Aires) in 1:48 scale containing an ejection seat with cast seat belts for the BAE (BAC) Lightning fighter. It is not an airplane model but a small replacement set for the cockpit. A seat with the belts cast directly into a single part markedly raises the accuracy of the cockpit without the laborious folding of photo-etched belts.
The English Electric (later BAC/BAE) Lightning was a British supersonic interceptor with an unusual arrangement of two engines stacked one above the other and a steep rate of climb. The ejection seat is a prominent feature of an open cockpit and draws the eye on a model on display.
Separate the part from the casting block carefully, wash it to remove mold release and bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the seat from period photographs, set the belts apart in color from the shell and bring out the buckles with a dry brush; protect your airways while sanding.
The airplane model itself is not included in the package. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included.
