A detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard holding the seat belts for the seats of a Beaufighter TF.X model in 1:48 scale. The belts are etched from thin steel sheet and printed in color at the factory, so they do not have to be painted. The STEEL designation refers to exactly that material: compared with conventional brass, steel is springier and holds its shape once bent, so the belt looks as though it were draped loosely over the cushion. This is an accessory for the build, not a model of the aircraft.
The Bristol Beaufighter TF Mk.X was the torpedo and strike derivative of the heavy twin-engine Beaufighter, deployed mainly against shipping. The crew consisted of the pilot and a second crew member at the rear, both strapped in by multi-point belts. The belts are the most conspicuous detail in an open cockpit, and in injection-molded plastic they are always missing or merely suggested.
For modelers building a cockpit with the canopy open who want a faithful look without laboriously painting tiny parts. Color steel belts are the fastest route to a convincing interior: the job takes a few minutes and the difference shows at once.
This is a detail accessory for the build, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
