Befehlswagen Tiger conversion set 1:48 from the Czech maker Hauler serves to rebuild a Tiger model into the command version, which carried additional radio sets.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory set for converting a model of the German Tiger heavy tank to the command version in 1:48 scale. This is not a vehicle kit but a small conversion set that mounts on a finished plastic hull and turret. It is an accessory made of resin and plastic, so expect parts that are bonded with super glue.
Command vehicles, in German Befehlswagen, were ordinary combat vehicles fitted with additional radio sets for directing a unit. The extended radio equipment showed mainly in the extra antennas and their mountings; the room inside was found by cutting the ammunition stowage. From the outside it is an unobtrusive distinction, yet one an enthusiast reads at once, and it turns an ordinary model into a specific type of vehicle.
Wash the resin parts first in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent to remove the remains of the mold release agent; otherwise neither glue nor paint will hold on them. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc, never break them off, and protect your breathing while sanding, because resin dust is fine. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The thin antennas are fragile, so fit them right at the end of the build, after painting and weathering. Leave the antennas matte black with a slight sheen so that they stand apart from the hull.
This is an accessory, not a kit in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
