A photo-etched accessory set for a kit of the Bell P-39N Airacobra fighter in 1:48 scale, number FE1484.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Bell P-39N Airacobra is among the most idiosyncratic fighters of the Second World War. The cannon in the nose fired through the propeller axis, the engine sat behind the pilot in the middle of the fuselage, and the nose gear gave the aircraft a stance on the ground that the fighters of the day did not have. At high altitudes the type fell behind, but at the low levels over the Eastern Front it proved itself and Soviet pilots achieved a string of successes on it.
A photo-etched accessory set for a kit of the P-39N aircraft in 1:48 scale. The metal parts are etched from thin sheet, so they suit everywhere a plastic part would come across as coarse. The extent of the set, the part numbers and the places they are seated are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Before work, prepare tweezers with fine jaws, a sharp blade and a hard base; separate from the fret only the part whose turn it actually is. Finish the bends in one go, as repeated bending tires the metal. Dose the super glue from the tip of a toothpick; the excess dries into a white film. Degrease the sheet before painting and use a primer for metal, or the surface will scuff during handling.
The set suits modelers who want to carry the detail of the well known American fighter beyond the plastic parts. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
