Eduard 1:48 Bf 109E-1/E-3 masks is a cut self-adhesive masking set in kabuki tape for masking the cockpit glazing and the wheels of a model of the German fighter. It is not a model but an accessory for clean painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard holds precisely cut self-adhesive masks in fine Japanese kabuki tape for a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109E fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit or a finished model but an accessory that makes masking easier and more accurate while spraying paint.
The masks are stuck onto the canopy frames and the wheel hubs, so that spraying leaves the glazing clear and the tires free of paint. Kabuki tape conforms well to curved shapes, holds tightly and leaves no adhesive when peeled off. Thanks to that the canopy frames come out sharp and straight with no cutting of tape by hand. Before spraying, press the masks down carefully all round so that paint does not creep underneath, and once the coat is dry lift them off carefully.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109E, nicknamed Emil, was the main version of the German fighter in the first years of the Second World War, including the Battle of Britain. It was powered by a Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine with direct fuel injection. The E-1 version carried machine gun armament, while the E-3 added cannons in the wings.
The set holds only the cut masking parts. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
