Bf 109E air intake and cover in 1:48 scale is a resin replacement part from Quickboost for a model of this German fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin accessory from the Quickboost brand brings a precisely cast air intake and its cover for a model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter in the E version in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but a replacement part that swaps the simplified item from the box for a more faithful casting with the correct shape and fine detail.
The Bf 109E Emil was the main version of this legendary fighter during the Battle of Britain, powered by the Daimler-Benz DB 601 inverted V12 engine. On the left side of the engine cowling it carried a prominent air intake for the supercharger, whose shape and cover are among the characteristic details of the nose. A faithful casting with a crisp opening and the correct geometry is more convincing than the smooth plastic parts from the box.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap to remove mold release residue. Carefully cut off the casting blocks with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Check the fit against the cowling before bonding; the mouth of the intake can be subtly brought out with shading.
The accessory is supplied as a resin replacement part, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
