A resin detail part in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Aires, the Quickboost range. This is not an airplane kit but an accessory that replaces the plastic stabilizer, the horizontal tail surface, with a more accurate resin part with finer surface detail. The part is meant to be built into the matching plastic model.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109E, nicknamed Emil, was the version of the German fighter from the beginning of the Second World War with an inverted V12 Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine. It was deployed among other things during the Battle of Britain. On this version the horizontal tail surface was braced with struts, and its shape is one of the typical recognition features of the type.
First wash the mold release residue off the part, carefully cut off the casting block and bond it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Try the fit dry before gluing and adjust the surrounding plastic if needed. Spray the surface to match the rest of the model so that the part blends into the overall finish.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
