A one-part upgrade that takes a few minutes and shows from every angle. The set replaces the propeller of a plastic Messerschmitt Bf 109 model in the F-2 version with a resin casting. It is not an aircraft kit. An injected propeller always has a parting seam across the spinner and along the blades, and sanding it away means sanding exactly where the shape is most sensitive. A resin casting is poured in one piece, so both the seam and the risk of spoiling the section by sanding fall away.
The Bf 109F was a single-seat fighter with a liquid-cooled inverted V12 engine and an aerodynamically cleaned-up nose, part of which was an elongated spinner blending into the line of the cowling. The F-2 version belonged to the first batches of this series. The shape of the spinner and the blades fundamentally affects how the model looks, because the nose is the most characteristic part of this type's silhouette.
Wash the casting in warm water with detergent, otherwise the mold release agent will stop the paint from adhering. Cut the casting block off with a fine-toothed saw and level the surface on wet abrasive paper; sanding resin dry creates dust that should not be breathed. Try the part dry and if necessary adjust the diameter of the hole, not the pin. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Spray a primer before painting, because on smooth resin the paint rubs off the blade edge easily. The blades usually get a dark greenish black shade, while the spinner follows the markings of the particular machine - check it in the documentation for the model you are building. The blade tips generally carried warning stripes.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unpainted; paints, glue and the kit are not included in the package.
