Bf 109F/G tropical filter, early version (1:48, Quickboost) is a resin accessory that replaces the plastic dust filter on the intake for models of the Messerschmitt Bf 109F and G.

This is NOT an airplane model but a precisely cast resin accessory of the Quickboost brand in 1:48 scale. It replaces the simplified plastic part of the tropical dust filter on the supercharger intake and gives a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109F and G fighting in North Africa and the Mediterranean a crisper, more faithful detail. It is the early shape variant of the filter.
The so-called Tropenfilter (sand filter) was fitted to machines operating over the desert, where fine sand destroyed engines. The filter was mounted over the mouth of the supercharger intake on the left side of the fuselage and protected the Daimler-Benz powerplant from dust. The early and the late versions differed in the shape of the filter body.
First wash the part free of the remains of the mold release agent, cut off the casting block carefully and level the surface. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Do the sanding with respiratory protection. Once it is cleaned up, the filter can simply be sprayed together with the fuselage.
Supplied as an unpainted resin accessory. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package.
