Bf 109F/G tropical filter, late version (1:48, Quickboost) is a resin accessory replacing the plastic dust filter of the intake for Messerschmitt Bf 109F and G models.

This is NOT an aircraft model but a precisely cast resin accessory from the Quickboost brand in 1:48 scale. It replaces the plastic part of the tropical filter for the supercharger intake and gives a Messerschmitt Bf 109F and G model in desert service finer and truer detail. The set matches the late shape variant of the filter.
The tropical filter (Tropenfilter) protected the Daimler-Benz engine from swirling sand over North Africa and the Mediterranean. It was fitted over the mouth of the supercharger intake on the side of the fuselage. The shape of the filter developed during service, which is why an early and a late version are distinguished.
Wash the mold release agent off the part, cut off the casting block and level the mating surface. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and sand with respiratory protection. Once cleaned up, the filter is sprayed together with the fuselage of the model.
Supplied as an unpainted resin accessory. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package.
