This set from the LööK line by the Czech maker Eduard combines the two things you see most in the cockpit of a model: a cast resin instrument panel with pre-printed dials and photo-etched seat belts in steel. The panel arrives finished in color, so all you have to do is release it from the casting block and glue it in place of the plastic part. It is an accessory to a plastic model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10 in 1:48 scale, not a kit of the aircraft.
The Bf 109G-10 was one of the final production versions of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter. It was created from the autumn of 1944 both by conversion and by new production and carried the more powerful Daimler-Benz DB 605D engine, together with the characteristic bulges on the cowling. Outwardly the machines differed from one another according to the factory — in the shape of the cowling, the rudder and the tail wheel cover. The cockpit remained cramped and the instrument panel and the belts are clearly visible through the slid-back canopy, which is why refining them on a model is worthwhile.
Cut the instrument panel off the casting block with a fine saw, sand the area smooth and wash the mold release residue off it before gluing. Do not paint it — the printing of the dials is finished, and at most you can put a drop of gloss clear coat into the dial faces so that they look glazed. Let the steel belts warm up between your fingers for a moment before shaping, bend them with tweezers over a round object and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue; a belt with a natural sag looks better than one stretched out like a ruler. Fit everything before the fuselage is closed.
It is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory set. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
