This is a resin aftermarket detail set, not a stand-alone model. It offers precisely cast piston rods of the retraction mechanism of the main landing gear legs together with the locks in the down position. The parts replace the more softly shaped plastic pieces and give the landing gear a crisper, more accurately scaled profile that shows on a finished model close up as well as in a photograph.
On a fighter the landing gear is one of the first places an experienced eye looks at. Fine piston rods and clear locks in the down position raise the impression of mechanical accuracy and also make it easier to pick the hydraulics out with a wash afterward.
First wash the parts free of mold release agent, cut them carefully off the casting blocks and clean them up. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); protect your airways while sanding resin. Apply a primer before painting.
