This set from the aircraft aftermarket manufacturer Aires/Quickboost is a resin replacement for the cockpit rear bulkhead, the partition behind the pilot, for a model of the Bf 109G fighter in 1:48 scale. It is the closed version of the bulkhead. It is not an airplane kit but a detail accessory that replaces the simplified plastic part from the base kit with a more faithfully cast bulkhead. This version is one of three bulkhead variants the manufacturer makes; it differs from the standard open version and from the version for the power-boost systems.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109G was a German single-seat fighter of the Second World War, one of the most widely built types of its day. The space behind the pilot differed between configurations according to the equipment in the fuselage, and that is reflected in the shape of the cockpit rear bulkhead as well.
First wash the mold release residue off the resin part, carefully cut off the casting block and sand the surface with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). We recommend painting and weathering the bulkhead before the fuselage is closed up; the structure comes alive once the edges are picked out.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
