Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set from the Czech maker Eduard for a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109K in 1:48 scale. It does not deal with the cabin glazing but with the national insignia, that is, the crosses on the wings and the fuselage and the markings on the vertical tail. The markings are sprayed in paint over pre-cut masks.
The Bf 109K was the last series-produced version of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter. It came about at the very end of the Second World War as an attempt to clean up and unify the production of the preceding versions of the G series. Its identifying features are the aerodynamically cleaned nose with pronounced fairings and the tall wooden vertical tail. That is exactly why masked markings suit it: the surface has a great many sharp transitions and panel lines on which a decal easily ripples.
The base has to be smooth, clean and fully cured. Apply the mask, run a toothpick over the edges so that they seat, and spray the paint square and in thin layers, never at an angle under the edge. German crosses usually have a light border, so they are sprayed in two steps and the paint has to be left to dry between them. Take the mask off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch, with tweezers and a diagonal pull rather than a straight tear.
