An injection-molded plastic kit of the German twin-engined, two-seat heavy fighter Messerschmitt Bf 110 in the F version, in 1:48 scale. The model is made by the Czech manufacturer Eduard (Obrnice near Most) in the premium ProfiPACK edition, which adds colored photo-etched parts and masking templates right in the box compared with the basic version. Good decals with several color schemes are included, and as a bonus a resin dachshund figure.
The Messerschmitt Bf 110 was a German twin-engined heavy fighter (Zerstörer) used by the Luftwaffe from the beginning of the Second World War. It carried a crew of two and strong forward armament as well as a flexible machine gun for rear defense. The F version of 1941-1942 received more powerful engines and was used in the fighter, fighter-bomber and night roles on many fronts. The model captures this later form, with sub-versions represented in the decal schemes.
Paint the cockpit for the crew of two and fit it with the colored photo-etch before you close the fuselage up - once it is glued, the details are harder to reach. The extensive canopy glazing is best masked with the enclosed masks, so that the framing stays clean. Seat the engine nacelles, the landing gear bays and any underwing stores carefully. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic, attach the photo-etch with super glue, treat the surface with primer and spray the shades with an airbrush. Gray-green shades with a mottled finish, according to the scheme you choose, are typical of German camouflage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
