An injection-molded plastic kit of the French fighter Marcel Bloch MB.151 in 1:48 scale from the Ukrainian company Dora Wings. It is a fine short-run kit in gray and clear plastic complemented by a photo-etched sheet and a richly broken-up cockpit interior. A short-run tooling calls for somewhat more careful preparation of the parts, but the result is a faithful and detailed model of a less usual subject.
The Bloch MB.151 was a French single-seat low-wing fighter with a radial engine, one of the Bloch MB.150 to MB.157 series. It served with the French Air Force at the beginning of the Second World War, among other places in the fighting of 1940. It was of rugged construction, but in performance it lagged behind its contemporaries and was used only to a limited extent.
On a short-run kit it pays to dry-fit the parts first and clean up the parting lines. Assemble the detailed cockpit, add detail with photo-etch and paint it before you close the fuselage. The clear parts can be masked, and the frames of the glazing sprayed with an airbrush. Use thin cement for plastic, super glue (cyanoacrylate) for the small photo-etched parts, a primer for the base coat and gloss varnish under the decals.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
