An add-on set from Eduard for building a model of the Boeing EA-18G Growler carrier electronic warfare aircraft in 1:48 scale. LööKplus is the extended variant of the LööK line: to the color-printed instrument panel and the pre-painted steel seat belts it adds further three-dimensionally printed parts to raise the detail of the model. It is not a model of the aircraft - it is an assembly of accessories that replace selected parts of a plastic kit.
The range is wide and the individual lines are filled with different content. A Zoom set is a smaller, pre-painted selection from a full photo-etched set, aimed mainly at the cockpit. A full photo-etched set is more extensive and also holds exterior details. Masks are self-adhesive templates for the glazing and the wheels. Bundle sets group several sets together and decal sets hold only markings. LööK is a printed instrument panel with belts, LööKplus is the same basis extended with further printed parts - so it is a step between a simple improvement of the cockpit and a full set of details.
The Boeing EA-18G Growler is a specialized version intended for electronic warfare, derived from the two-seat F/A-18F Super Hornet. It takes over the airframe and the power installation but carries different equipment and differently treated wingtips. It is operated by the US Navy and the machine carries out the tasks that older electronic warfare aircraft used to handle.
Wash the printed parts in lukewarm water with dish soap and let them dry, or both glue and paint will hold less well. Separate them from the carrier structure with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw. Choose super glue, and a gel one for larger parts. Sand the remains of the supports with fine abrasive paper and protect your breathing while sanding. Do not repaint the pre-painted panel and the belts; just seat them and shape them lightly. Always try the fit dry before you close the fuselage up.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
