A resin inspection panel of the early version for the Fw 190 in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Aires. A small accessory for a kit, not a model on its own.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small add-on set in cast resin which replaces the drawing of the inspection panel on the fuselage of the Fw 190 in 1:48 scale. The casting offers sharper detail and the correct shape matching the early form, which differed on later machines. This is a workshop accessory to a build; the package holds neither the aircraft nor any other parts of the model.
The Fw 190 was a single-engine fighter with a radial engine whose external fuselage shape went through a range of small changes during production. Service and inspection panels were among the details that differed in shape and position between the individual production series. For building a particular machine it therefore pays to verify whether the early form matches it.
The part is small, so separate it from the casting block with a modeling saw over a surface, so that it is not lost, and work with tweezers. First sand the area on the fuselage where the panel is to go flat, and if need be fill the original engraved lines and sand them over. It is glued with superglue; apply it in a minimal amount with a pin. Run thin filler into the gap around the perimeter and sand it gently, so that the panel does not look stuck on. A primer will then reveal any remains of the gap and any bubbles, and only after that spray the camouflage.
This is an accessory to a build, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
