The F/A-18F is the two-seat variant of the carrier-based combat aircraft built by Boeing. The crew is a pilot and a weapon systems officer, who sit one behind the other in a lengthened cockpit. The machine operates from the decks of aircraft carriers and handles both attack on ground targets and air combat. According to the name it is listed as a Hornet, although the letter F belongs to the later and larger Super Hornet series.
This is a photo-etched set for a model in 1:48 scale. The items are etched from a thin metal fret; such parts have crisp edges and a fine thickness that a plastic part at this scale cannot imitate. Check the extent against the manufacturer's part number 491260 and against the instructions included in the package before ordering.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with pliers, or the photo-etch will bend. Level the remains of the tab after separation with a fine file or abrasive paper. Make the bends along the scored lines, best in a bending tool or between two blades. Use cyanoacrylate glue in a minute amount, because polystyrene cement does not hold on metal. Before painting, wash and degrease the metal and lay down a primer, otherwise the paint layer will flake off in time.
The photo-etched set alone is supplied. The kit, paints, clear coat and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
