A set of accurate self-adhesive New Ware painting masks for spraying the identification stripes on aircraft bombs in 1:48 scale. Laser-cut masks for clean, sharp color bands.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set contains accurate self-adhesive New Ware painting masks intended for spraying the colored identification stripes on miniature aircraft bombs in 1:48 scale. It is not a model and not the bombs themselves, but an aid for painting them convincingly. The masks are laser-cut from fine washi (rice paper) tape, which follows the curved surface of a bomb well and lifts off easily and cleanly after spraying.
Aircraft bombs carry colored identification stripes on their bodies that serve to distinguish the type and condition of the ordnance. A yellow stripe usually marks a bomb with a high-explosive filling. Accurately placed, sharply bounded stripes are a small but striking detail that gives the stores under a model a realistic look.
First spray the surface of the bomb with the base color and let it dry thoroughly. Transfer the mask carefully, press it down along the edge and spray the stripe color in thin coats so that the paint does not creep under the edge. Once dry, lift the mask off. The masks are single-use.
These are painting masks, not a model. Paints, bombs and glue are not included in the package.
